3D via satellite : how does it work ?
Toujours à la pointe de la technologie, Eutelsat contribue à faire de la 3D une réalité alors que la révolution numérique relief s’accélère dans le monde.
En tant que premier opérateur européen, Eutelsat diffuse via sa flotte de 26 satellites plus de 3 400 chaînes de télévision, dont 100 en haute définition, et s’inscrit ainsi dans une dynamique d'innovation continue. La 3D représente un double défi pour l’opérateur : celui du cinéma, par la diffusion de films ou la retransmission d’événements en direct dans les salles, comme le concert de Julien Clerc le 16 juillet 2009 ou le match France – Angleterre du Tournoi des Nations RBS en Février 2010; et celui du petit écran, dans les foyers, avec la généralisation de la diffusion en 3D des chaînes.
L’année dernière, Eutelsat a ouvert un canal de démonstration sur son satellite EUROBIRD 9A afin de faire partager l’expérience de la télévision future, en 3D, en servant de banc d'essai pour analyser les performances des écrans, encodeurs et décodeurs, et acquérir de l'expérience dans l'utilisation du contenu 3D dans des lieux privés et publics…

Current speakers broadcast sound anywhere in the space, in front of it but also on sides or behind. For certain uses (terminal, point of sale advertising…), speakers add more drawbacks than give added value as they create noise everywhere else. Some systems enable to reduce noise generated but never to annihilate it. A-Volute has developed an innovative and new generation way of broadcasting sound, allowing playing sound only in a small cone in front of the speaker. This Directional Speaker opens new ways of use and possibilities for spatial sound design. It just allows broadcasting information at the right time and the right place.
